Our best signing of the season?

Despite the obvious press that Payet is getting, keeping Reid, when most of us thought he was off, could well be the best signing this year.
Make such a difference to the whole defensive performance. Reads the game so well and was an absolute monster today against a very very good Man City forward line,
classy defender lad,

I was looking for a thread about this...
This for me was when i thought west ham were going somewhere as i didnt believe in a million years he was staying... It was a complete shock when he signed.
We have a long way to go but we are cert building something here

We've made some fantastic signings this year, but that Payet is of the best players I've ever seen in a West Ham shirt. I can't believe we've signed him. He would get into any team in the league.

His positioning and determination tonight was exceptional, but Payet is a top class player on the evidence of the first six games. He produces at least two "knob out wank furiously" moments of play every game. We'll be lucky to hold on to him after this season.

Slaven is our best signing - on the BBC Interview after the game he said "its a great night for our club".
Very humble, its about the players, no reference to him and his tactics (i.e Alardici)
He crates the environment for those players to perform.
I cannot believe how good they stood and fought.
When Jelavic came on and took the pressure off from the front, How Sakho then went to right side and ran and ran and ran.
Time to enjoy, smile and and thank Slaven for being the leader that we wanted.

Not so sure about that ATBOG.
For the first time in a very long time indeed we are in a position where we can hold on to players. The OS, higher TV prize money etc. Chelsea and Man City were middling clubs before their Russian/Abu Dhabi money came flooding in and, to an extent, the new TV deal has leveled the playing field a bit.
I live in hope anyway

Hope you're right too zeb.FIngers crossed the players have a bit of moral fibre about them and want to build their reputations on a club on the up whilst making a very comfortable living and enjoying the ride.

I'll give BFS the credit for the defence, reminds me of when Wenger took over Arsenal, he benefited from having George Grahams defence as the launchpad for more attacking play from the new foreign manager, give credit where it is due

Somehow I think Slaven is the sort of person who would turn down a big european club as he has made a commitment.
Leaving the last time is still on his mind and somewhere I thought he had stated that leaving was a regret.
Hoping we have a long relationship together.

I don't think extending Reid's contract was the best signing, but i believe it was the most significant.
I like most, thought he was definitely going to be off. In years gone by, he would of gone without a shadow of a doubt.
So Reid re-signing signified that we were heading in the right direction. The signings we've made since have vindicated this.
With regards to who has been the best signing, then Payet would be the obvious choice. But to be fair, all the signings have been very good. Add to this the appointment of Bilic, it would seem that the good times are here..
Now because of this positivity surrounding the club, I now fully expect Norwich to give us a fucking good hiding..
It's the West Ham way! ;-)
